Getting Groovy!

We are having great fun learning about lots of different instruments - this will help us decide what instrument we want to make!  We played a really fun game in class where we listened to a sound and then had to guess which instrument it was!  Click on "Orchestra Game" below to play!

Getting Groovy!

This term the school is studying Music and will be creating their own musical instruments towards the end of the term.  The children have been given a brief that they need to follow (see below).  We have also been talking in class about how the children will be "technologist" when they create their musical instrument.  We looked at the technology cycle (see below) and this is what we will follow when we create our instruments.  The children will make a plan in class towards the end of June and bring this home to show you what they need to bring from home to make it.  We are hoping the children will use recycled material to make this.  Plastic bottles, cans, cardboard, tin cans, tissue boxes are all great equipment that can easily be turned into instruments!

Deaf Awareness Week

For deaf awareness week Room 5 have been learning about sign language and why we have it.  We have watched some videos online on how to greet others, say the alphabet and count to 10.  If you want to practice click on the links below.  Make sure you look carefully at how the people are holding their hands, otherwise you might be signing a different word!
